About Me

Hello o/My name is AzureSnapdragoon!I go by she/her/they/them pronouns and I'm from Texas! I'm also a witch who has practiced for over eleven years and my specialty is divination.I love to create a variety of things. From gposes, fanfiction, videos, art and music. When I'm not creating, I'm either playing FFXIV, Overwatch, or some other game.Azure lore drop time!!!As a teen I was very active in fandom communities for Pirates of the Caribbean (including other Johnny Depp films) and then The Vampire Diaries. Which I used to make fanvideos, fanfiction, graphic art and even backgrounds youtube for!Well... when youtube had such a thing.Man I'm really showing my age huh?

I started video editing in 2007 with a video camera, a pile of Johnny Depp films and Windows Movie Maker. Pirates of the Caribbean and The Vampire Diaries were my first steps into fandom, and soon after I began writing and exploring other creative endeavors! However, as you would expect, life happened and I stepped away from fandom for quite sometime.
In 2011, 2012? I think? Was my last published fanfiction.
I did continue to work on videos, but that progressed to game montages for FPS's and silly compilations. I also still wrote, but mainly kept my works to myself. Especially if it involved fanfiction. I have a pile of fanfics that have never seen the light of day for Pirates, Vampire Diaries, Overwatch, and even Ghost. My reasoning for this was due to events that happened when I was a teen that involved a lot of trauma. It was very difficult for me to get past it. If it was fanworks, it was triggering. So I manly kept it to myself. In 2018 I created Vanth Adina, but not my Warrior of Light. This version of her was originally a character I had created for a Ghost Fanfiction that lasted for a week. (The idea literally only lasted a week. lol)Then I decided I loved her too much and made her into a completely original character. For years this version of Vanth became my rock. Especially during 2019 into 2020 when I was fighting an eating disorder. She was a part of me and every game character I created. Each one having her same look; black hair, white highlights, grey eyes and a connection to death. So when I started playing FFXIV I followed the same routine. The only difference is, this version of Vanth decided to take me for a whole new adventure that I wasn't expecting. She also decided she wanted to be her own character... so I just let it happen. In April of 2024 I started playing FFXIV again. I had already adored the story and Estinien has always been my favorite character. He was my secret comfort character (not so much anymore huh?) who I felt very connected too because of my own past experiences. At the time I had yet to really dive into the fandom head on. For one I didn't want to get spoiled, but I also still had those old fears from back when I was a teenager. That was until I got to a very particular part in Endwalker that changed my entire perspective. Not only about myself, but my love for the game, and just how much my Warrior of Light and Estinien truly met to me.At this time I hadn't written anything in two years, not even to my own original works. It was a time in my life where I had lost all motivation for anything creative. That single scene changed that and right after I had finished playing for the day, I wrote a one-shot.I still had no intention of sharing my work or getting involved in fandom again. This one shot I had written was supposed to be for myself alone. That was until my boyfriend suggested I give it a shot. He saw it as a way to help me become more comfortable with sharing my work. As well as help heal the wounds of my past and be able to gain more confidence in myself and my creative endeavors.I had already been exploring the fandom passively after finishing Dawntrail, lightly reading fanfiction and occasionally seeing folks Gposes and art. I already knew I loved it and wanted to give it a try... and so in late 2024, I decided to join.Since then it's been a wild time and I wouldn't change it for the world! I have met some of the most amazing people, made wonderful friends, and have become a better person because of it!My goal with my work is just to make people smile. If I'm able to give you a place to rest, escape, and get lost in a tale. Then I did my job.So I hope you enjoy my precious dragoon Vanth and her crazy adventures!Oh and that one-shot. I still have it, buuuuuttt I did end up reimagining it a little bit so it works for my longfic instead. Heh heh heeeh.
